How to Set Song as iPhone Ringtone – Ringtones can be the easiest way to personalizing your iPhone. One can assign specific songs to certain people and you will know when they call or even if not, using your fav song as a ringtone is a cool thing to do. So you must be wondering how can I turn a song in iTunes into a ringtone for my iPhone? Because apple isn’t running android that you select any track and that’s your ringtone. Apple uses its own iOs and has its security protocols and stuff, which makes custom ringtone process a bit complicated, but not to worry when I am here to teach you how to set Song as iPhone Ringtone or any other tone.set Song as iPhone Ringtone or any other tone

There are 2 methods or more to making this possible to set Song as iPhone Ringtone and ill be showing you both the ways its done. One is to use iTunes and the other is to use third party app.  Let me show you how its done, starting of with the iTunes method.

Method 1: set Song as iPhone Ringtone using iTunes :

Step 1: Open iTunes on your computer and find a song that you want to snip.

Step 2: Right-click on the song and select “Get Info” followed by the “Options”. In the Options tab, you will see Start and Stop. Here is where you will enter your start and stop time for the ringtone. Max 40 secs. When you are done with your timing, press OK.

Step 3: Select the track, Go to File >> Concert and select Create AAC Version. The AAC version will be in your library now. Rename it accordingly.

Step 4: Right-click on your new AAC song clip and select Show in Finder”. From the Finder folder, right-click the song and select Get Info.

Step 5: In the Get Info menu, under “Name and Extension”, change the extension for .m4a to .m4r and save your changes.

Step 6: Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.

Step 7: Drag the tone from the desktop to the Tones section.

Step 8: Drag the Ringtone to your phone

Step 9: Back on your phone, Go to Settings >> Sounds >> Ringtones and select your new ringtone from the list (it should be at the top).

You can repeat this process and add as many custom ringtones as you want using any song in your iTunes library.

Method 2: set Song as iPhone Ringtone with Ringtone app (Any App) :

Eg : Ringtone Designer: Create custom tones for Ringtone, Email tone, Sms Tone ,etc. The app has Easy User interface and will instruct you the basics and will guide to set Song as iPhone Ringtone but anyways here is what you do (Things may differ from app to app but this is the basic idea)

  • Run the app
  • Select Tracks from your library
  • Select what tone you want to make (eg: Ringtone or SMS)
  • Crop the track according to the tone you are making, within the app.
  • Now it will save the file in the apps.
  • You can email the file to yourself or connect your iPhone to Itunes and through file sharing extract the file
  • Then follow Method 1 from step 7.
